Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hospitality Assistant Leader to join our team at St Monica Trust. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our village café.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service
    • Provide a welcoming and friendly environment for residents and customers, focusing on exceptional customer service and a wide variety of food and drinks.
    • Build strong relationships with residents and customers, understanding their needs and preferences.
  • Café Operations
    • Assist with the preparation and cooking of food, including making sandwiches, paninis, and salads.
    • Operate the EPOS system efficiently and accurately.
    • Ensure the café is clean and well-maintained, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise and support a team of Hospitality Assistants, providing guidance and training as needed.
    • Assist with stock management, rotation, and ordering.
  • Quality and Compliance
    • Ensure that food produced meets quality standards and complies with allergen and dietary needs.
    • Accurately cash up at the end of service.
Requirements
  • Essential
    • Knowledge and experience of good food hygiene practices.
    • Knowledge of health and safety principles.
    • Good standard of general education.
    • Barista training.
    • Knowledge and working practice of good customer service.
  • Senior
    • Food hygiene qualification level 2.
    • Experience working in a busy café/restaurant environment.
    • Experience supervising a team.
    • Confidence with IT systems, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Desirable
  • Senior
    • Diploma (or NVQ) level 2 in Catering/Food Service or equivalent.
    • Experience using an EPOS system.
