Job Summary:

The Education Network Newcastle is seeking a skilled Pastoral Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Deep Support Team, you will play a vital role in promoting the learning and welfare of vulnerable students and those who experience barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the re-integration of pupils back into school through intervention and extended support.
  • Work closely with the Senior Year Leader to develop and implement strategies to engage students in positive behaviors for learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Trust values and Ethos.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people in a secondary school setting.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting students and young people and strategies to engage them in positive behaviors for learning.
  • Excellent written communication and high standards of literacy and numeracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
  • A strong commitment to Trust values and Ethos.
