About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Dermatology team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing senior clinical nursing leadership and professional development for nursing and support workers within the clinical area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled assessment of patients, including history taking, skin assessment, and interpretation of test results.
  • Use expert clinical knowledge to safely and appropriately assess and diagnose patients in their care.
  • Act autonomously to plan and implement individualized management plans for patients within the department and on the ward.
  • Contribute to the performance of diagnostic procedures for the Dermatitis Service and train nursing staff in relevant competencies.
  • Prescribe appropriately as a Non-Medical Prescriber within the area of specialty.
  • Manage a caseload of patients with minimal supervision on biologics and systemic treatments for chronic inflammatory skin conditions.
  • Recognize own limitations and seek advice or refer patients to other clinicians when required.
  • Accept referrals from the multidisciplinary team and provide specialist advice and support to colleagues.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with a degree and post-registration qualification relevant to the specialty.
  • Teaching and mentorship experience.
  • NMP or willingness to undertake course.
  • Ongoing professional development.
  • Extensive Dermatology experience and evidence of teaching, assessing, and practice development.
