Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Dermatology team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing senior clinical nursing leadership and professional development for the nursing and support workers within the clinical area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled assessment of patients, including history taking, skin assessment, and interpreting test results.
  • Use expert clinical knowledge to diagnose and manage patients with dermatological conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments as a Non-Medical Prescriber, in line with Trust protocols and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement individualized management plans for patients, using clinical decision-making skills.
  • Contribute to the performance of diagnostic procedures, such as patch testing, and train nursing staff in relevant competencies.
  • Provide professional advice and support to the multidisciplinary team, and accept referrals from other disciplines.
  • Maintain a safe and suitable environment for patients and staff, and ensure compliance with Trust policies and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with a degree and post-registration qualification relevant to the specialty.
  • Experience in Dermatology, with evidence of teaching, assessing, and practice development.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to adapt to change and de-escalate difficult situations.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience in teaching and mentoring.
