Job Title: Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with Transthyretin Amyloidosis (ATTR-CM) and coordinating nurse-led clinics.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert specialist care to patients with ATTR-CM
  • Coordinate nurse-led clinics to ensure seamless patient care
  • Organize the delivery and administration of specialist treatments
  • Coordinate research activity for the national caseload of patients with ATTR-CM

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expert specialist skills in TTR amyloidosis
  • Knowledge of current advances and pathways of care relevant to the specialty
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and work to deadlines
  • Ability to motivate staff and improve individual and team performance
  • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with multi-professional teams
  • Demonstrable ability to undertake change management
  • Able to manage stressful situations and challenge decisions to ensure patient needs are met
  • Able to lead, manage, and motivate others in complex problem-solving and assessment skills

Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • NMC Registered nurse
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Recognized teaching or mentorship qualification
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to the specialty
  • Advanced assessment skills

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Masters degree or willingness to work towards
  • Independent nurse prescribing course or willingness to undertake
  • Previous experience of research and audit
  • Current experience of line management of staff
