Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and committed Inpatient Physiotherapy Specialist, possessing substantial expertise in providing physiotherapy services within a hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a registered member of the professional physiotherapy body, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients across various departments, including but not limited to orthopaedics, medical care, post-operative recovery, and respiratory therapy.

Core Duties

  • To enhance the physiotherapy service by promoting best practices, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • To take full responsibility for the organization and management of a complex and specialized patient caseload, prioritizing clinical needs and effective time management.
  • To apply clinical judgment and analytical skills, utilizing evidence-based knowledge to assess and diagnose patients, and to develop suitable physiotherapy management strategies as an independent practitioner.
  • To employ effective communication and behavior modification techniques to encourage long-term self-management for patients with acute or chronic conditions.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with the health and care professions council for physiotherapy
  • Demonstrated postgraduate development in the field of neurological physiotherapy
  • Evidence of additional specialized knowledge gained through relevant postgraduate training in physiotherapy
  • Experience working with patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in various inpatient specialties such as orthopaedics, medical care, and post-operative rehabilitation
  • Experience in collaborative multidisciplinary team environments
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call respiratory rota
