Position Overview

Become a vital part of ALPADIA's team and help create unforgettable summer experiences. We seek enthusiastic individuals who can engage and motivate young learners while also seeking their own enriching educational journey.

We are currently in search of a English Language and Creative Arts Instructor for a fixed-term summer contract.

Responsibilities:

Promote and ensure the wellbeing of all students in our care Deliver language instruction tailored to a camp setting, adhering to the Alpadia syllabus and course framework Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of English and its linguistic structures, providing suitable models of both spoken and written forms Tailor lesson content to align with course objectives, student learning needs, and cultural backgrounds Ensure lessons achieve relevant learning outcomes, clearly communicated to students, through a coherent sequence of activities Employ teaching techniques that cater to the lesson's focus and the diverse needs of the group and individual learners Foster a conducive learning environment through effective classroom management and resource utilization Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance Incorporate activities to assess student learning progress Engage students actively and cultivate a positive learning atmosphere Adapt the syllabus to meet the specific needs of students at both class and individual levels Encourage the exclusive use of the target language in the classroom by both students and instructors Represent ALPADIA positively, maintaining a polite and friendly demeanor with students both inside and outside the classroom Participate in a reflective teaching approach and developmental observation process, embracing an open-door classroom policy Arrive punctually and ensure lessons commence and conclude on time Actively engage in all necessary staff meetings Attend and contribute to weekly Professional Development Sessions with a spirit of positive engagement Assist with placement assessments as required Review and acknowledge relevant risk assessments as necessary Collaborate with the Camp Manager/Academic Manager to address any issues or concerns raised by students, agents, parents, or other stakeholders Maintain appropriate levels of student discipline, safety, and welfare, reporting any concerns to the Camp Manager or Academic Manager

Required Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

TEFL certification (mandatory) Bachelor's degree or equivalent (level 6) CELTA, Trinity Cert. TESOL, or equivalent DELTA or Dip TESOL – (preferred) PGCE in Creative Arts

Skills & Experience

Strong communication skills (mandatory) Ability to inspire and enjoy working with large groups of children and teenagers (mandatory) Excellent organizational abilities (mandatory) Capability to collaborate effectively within a team (mandatory) Positive, flexible, and adaptable approach to teamwork and teaching (mandatory) Exceptional interpersonal skills with a client-focused mindset (mandatory) Experience teaching in summer camps (preferred) Experience with junior students (preferred)
