Position Overview

Become a member of ALPADIA's team to create unforgettable summer experiences We seek enthusiastic individuals who can engage and motivate young learners while also seeking their own enriching educational experiences.

We are currently looking for a Summer English Language and Creative Arts Educator on a fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities:

Promote and ensure the wellbeing of all students in our care Deliver language instruction suitable for a camp setting, adhering to the Alpadia syllabus and course framework Demonstrate a solid understanding of English and its linguistic structures, providing effective models of both spoken and written English Tailor lesson content to align with course objectives, learning needs, and cultural backgrounds of students Ensure each lesson achieves relevant learning outcomes through a coherent sequence of activities Utilize appropriate teaching methods that cater to the lesson's focus and the needs of the group and individual learners Foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom management and resource utilization Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance Incorporate activities to assess learning progress Engage students and cultivate a positive learning atmosphere Adapt the syllabus to meet the specific needs of students at both class and individual levels Encourage the exclusive use of the target language in classrooms Represent ALPADIA positively, maintaining a polite and friendly demeanor with students Engage in reflective teaching practices and a developmental observation process, embracing an open-door classroom policy Arrive punctually and ensure lessons commence and conclude on time Actively participate in necessary staff meetings Attend and contribute to weekly Professional Development Sessions with a spirit of collaboration Assist with placement assessments as needed Understand and comply with relevant risk assessments Collaborate with the Camp Manager/Academic Manager to address any issues or concerns raised by students, agents, parents, or other stakeholders Maintain appropriate levels of student discipline, safety, and welfare, reporting any issues to the Camp Manager or Academic Manager

Required Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

TEFL certification First Degree or equivalent (level 6) CELTA, Trinity Cert. TESOL or equivalent DELTA or Dip TESOL – (Desirable) PGCE in Creative Arts

Skills & Experience

Strong communication skills Ability to motivate and engage with large groups of children/teenagers Excellent organizational abilities Team-oriented mindset Positive, flexible, and adaptable approach to teamwork and teaching Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused attitude Experience teaching in summer camps (Desirable) Experience working with junior students (Desirable)
