Position Overview

Become a vital part of ALPADIA's team to create an unforgettable summer experience We seek enthusiastic individuals who can engage and motivate young learners while also seeking a rewarding educational experience for themselves.

We are currently in search of a English Language and Creative Arts Instructor for a fixed-term summer engagement.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the safety and well-being of all students under your supervision Deliver language instruction tailored to a camp setting, adhering to the Alpadia syllabus and course framework Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of English and its linguistic structures, providing effective models of both spoken and written language Tailor lesson content to align with course objectives, student learning needs, and cultural backgrounds Design lessons that achieve specific learning outcomes, clearly communicated to students, through a logical sequence of activities Utilize teaching methods suited to the lesson focus and the needs of the group and individual students Foster a conducive learning environment through effective classroom management and resource utilization Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance Incorporate activities to assess student learning progress Engage students actively and cultivate a positive learning atmosphere Adapt the syllabus to meet the diverse needs of students at both class and individual levels Encourage the exclusive use of the target language in the classroom by students and fellow educators Represent ALPADIA positively, maintaining a friendly and respectful demeanor towards students both inside and outside the classroom Participate in a reflective teaching approach and engage in developmental observation, maintaining an open-door classroom policy Arrive punctually and ensure lessons commence and conclude on time Actively engage in all necessary staff meetings Attend and contribute to weekly Professional Development Sessions with a positive attitude Assist with student placement assessments as needed Review and understand relevant risk assessments as required Collaborate with the Camp Manager/Academic Manager to address any issues or concerns raised by students, agents, parents, or other stakeholders Maintain appropriate levels of student discipline, safety, and welfare, reporting any concerns to the Camp Manager or Academic Manager

Required Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

TEFL certification Bachelor's degree or equivalent (level 6) CELTA, Trinity Cert. TESOL, or equivalent DELTA or Dip TESOL – (Preferred) PGCE in Creative Arts

Skills & Experience

Strong communication skills Ability to inspire and engage large groups of children and teenagers Excellent organizational capabilities Team-oriented approach Positive, adaptable attitude towards collaborative teaching Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on client satisfaction Experience in summer camp teaching (Preferred) Experience teaching junior students (Preferred)
