About the Role

Orchard Therapeutics, a global biotechnology company, is seeking a highly skilled Business Operations Coordinator to join its Technical Operations team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of operational processes and initiatives that drive business excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate operational excellence projects, including facilitating workshops, generating and approving project charters, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate procurement activities for the Technical Operations function and support contract review and approval processes.
  • Oversee the coordination and review of departmental budget, risk management, operational processes, and routine monitoring of external costs.
  • Assist with strategic and long-range planning activities for the Technical Operations function.
  • Maintain business evaluation databases.
  • Contribute ideas and support the organization of engagement initiatives, such as coordinating monthly Lunch & Learn sessions.
  • Assist with the design and preparation of presentations to support departmental communication processes.
  • Provide precise reporting and governance support for the Technical Operations functions.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as an operations coordinator or similar role, preferably within the biotechnology sector.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to develop effective working relationships.
  • Process-oriented and able to maintain a high level of accuracy and consistent attention to detail.
  • Reliable, with excellent time-management and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, anticipate, and resolve challenges, and deliver results to demanding deadlines.
  • A strong team player with a flexible and customer-focused approach.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight.
  • Familiarity with Operational Excellence/Lean program coordination.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education:

BSc or relevant industry experience in biotechnology, biological sciences, gene therapy, analytical development, or an operational excellence or finance-related discipline. Some experience in a coordinator role in a Technical Operations, procurement, project, or operations function, ideally in the pharma industry.
