Senior Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills in the management of complex knee problems, trauma, and post-trauma reconstruction of the knee.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Trauma and Orthopaedics, with experience in acute on-call commitments. They will be responsible for playing a crucial role in the knee team, having access to elective and trauma theatre sessions and outpatient clinics. This will involve complex acute knee trauma and elective conditions.

The post is for a period of 6 months, extendable for a further 6 months. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team, developing their skills in the management of various knee conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with complex knee problems
  • Conduct elective and trauma theatre sessions, and outpatient clinics
  • Work closely with the consultant team to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams
Person Specification
  • Medical Degree from a recognised University
  • MRCS or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) or equivalent experience or competencies
  • Experience in Trauma & Orthopaedics with acute on-call commitments
