We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Polaris Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our pupils.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to pupils, promoting their academic and social growth.
- Collaborate with the Classroom Teacher to develop and implement lesson plans, ensuring a tailored approach to meet the needs of each pupil.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and working with the teaching team to develop strategies for improvement.
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including extra-curricular events and school trips, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with lesson planning, classroom preparation, and setting work, marking, and providing feedback to pupils.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Hold a strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, and sound IT skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant, is essential.
- Some experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting is desirable.
- Be experienced and confident enough to take additional responsibility in an area of school, such as Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, or School Yoga.
- Experience of behavior management and techniques is essential.
- Commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn are essential.
- Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work.
