Senior Consultant (Healthcare) Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant to join our Real Estate Consulting (REC) team in Glasgow. As a key member of our team, you will work with health and social care clients nationally to identify and test the feasibility of real estate investment opportunities.

Your expertise will be crucial in helping clients build a strong case for change and make informed real estate investment decisions. You will have a deep understanding of the business case development stages, from Project Initiation to Full Business Case, and be able to author compelling business cases using the HM Treasury 5 case model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare business cases (SOC / OBC / FBC), estate / property strategies, property target operating models, and change management plans.
  • Develop and implement real estate investment strategies for healthcare clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify and test the feasibility of real estate investment opportunities.
  • Author business cases and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Work with clients to develop estate strategies and property target operating models.
  • Provide expert advice on real estate investment and business case development.
Requirements
  • Relevant real estate industry qualification or experience.
  • Experience in a client-side and consultancy environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Financial literacy and commercial understanding.
  • Ability to understand and combine commercial, strategic, and operational perspectives.
  • Persuasive and confident in managing client relationships.
  • Programme management, project management, capital projects, and contract management skills.
  • Competent in handling data sets and presenting data to evidence proposed solutions.
Qualifications
  • Project Management Qualification (e.g. Prince 2 or MSP).
  • Business Case Writing Skills.
  • Previous experience of working collaboratively and managing change across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Project Management planning and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of the HM Treasury 5 case model.
  • Experience of working with large and complex datasets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, persuasion, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to suit the changing requirements of the project.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Able to prioritise and manage own workload with minimal supervision.
  • Clear understanding of good practice data management procedures.
  • Relevant Industry qualification (e.g. Surveying, Engineering, Financial, Accounting).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Better Business Case Accreditation.
  • Experience of Strategic infrastructure programmes in large/complex organisations.
  • Experience of working as a project manager level in Health or Social Care services.
  • Ability to lead and develop Business Case for major capital investment opportunities.
  • Demonstrate initiative and resilience to deal with challenges and resistance.
  • Able to use data (e.g. MS Excel, Power BI) to deliver perceptive and well-supported analysis.
