Job Overview
University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Director to lead our commercial function. This is an exciting opportunity to provide commercial leadership and strategic advice to the Trust, driving commercial opportunities and delivering an outstanding commercial and procurement service.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will have experience of operating at board level in a senior finance or commercial role, ideally within the NHS or a similar environment. They will demonstrate a strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to contribute to major strategic programmes and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercial leadership and strategic advice to the Trust
- Drive commercial opportunities and deliver an outstanding commercial and procurement service
- Lead the commercial team and provide direction and vision
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve Trust objectives
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve commercial goals
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience of operating at board level in a senior finance or commercial role
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Ability to contribute to major strategic programmes
- Ability to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
