Commercial Director

We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Director to lead our commercial function at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide commercial leadership, strategic advice, and direction to the commercial team and procurement function.
The Commercial Director will be accountable for providing high-level commercial advice, raising awareness of and maximising commercial opportunities. They will support the Trust in delivering an outstanding commercial and procurement service for the benefit of staff and patients.
The ideal candidate will have experience of operating at board/sub-board level in a senior finance or commercial role, ideally within the NHS or a similar environment. They will demonstrate an engaging and inclusive leadership style and have the credibility and gravitas to lead commercial management in a complex acute setting.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial leadership and strategic advice to the Trust
- Lead the commercial team and procurement function
- Maximise commercial opportunities and raise awareness of commercial issues
- Support the Trust in delivering an outstanding commercial and procurement service
