Strategic Insight Consultant - Marketing and Executive

As a leading thought partner, you will leverage a profound comprehension of business challenges to deliver high-impact and pertinent data, innovative analysis, and strategic insights across market dynamics, content, audience engagement, and commercial strategies to senior executives and C-Suite leaders.

Department Overview
The Strategy, Policy & Insight function serves as trusted advisors, providing expert strategy, policy, market, and audience insights. Our newly centralized Audience Insights team is dedicated to being independent thought leaders, integral to creative and commercial decision-making, ensuring a unified source of truth and a comprehensive perspective that challenges and advises the organization for sustainable growth through data utilization.

Role Objective
Your mission is to interpret insights for stakeholders and drive recommendations that empower leaders to make informed and profitable business decisions. Within our centralized operating model, each C-Suite leader and their senior teams will have a dedicated Insight Consultant who prioritizes and aligns their insight needs with strategic objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the CEO and Executive Committee to establish a prioritized insights portfolio, ensuring alignment with team capacity and addressing workload conflicts.
  • Maintain effective relationships with designated C-suite and senior leaders, providing valuable and accurate intelligence that informs their strategic decisions.
  • Source insights primarily from internal data, and when necessary, coordinate with specialist teams or external research organizations for bespoke requirements.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights, simplifying narratives to ensure clarity and applicability for business stakeholders.
  • Negotiate a comprehensive portfolio of insight deliverables with executive stakeholders, managing priorities and team capacity across analysts and specialists.
  • Propose innovative approaches to insights based on emerging market trends, data sets, and analytical methodologies.
  • Identify necessary data pathways to fulfill insight requirements, collaborating with other consultants and analysts to source advanced research capabilities.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the insight function's impact and value by sharing ideas and solutions with leadership.
  • Oversee a team of 2-4 Insight Analysts, fostering their development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality insights to the business.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS / STAKEHOLDERS

  • C-Suite and Senior Leaders within the designated area of responsibility.
  • Potential for succession into senior leadership roles within the insights function.
  • Accountable for managing a team of Insight Analysts, with no direct financial budget responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven expertise in insight provision and the foundational activities that support robust intelligence.
  • Strong understanding of the industry landscape, competitive dynamics, and market challenges relevant to the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior leaders, building trusted relationships through confidence and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated capacity to influence stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Proven collaboration skills to foster a cooperative environment within the insights function and across the organization.
  • Strong negotiation abilities to advocate for insights and drive consensus on deliverables.
  • Commitment to innovation, staying informed on best practices in insight methodologies and tools.
  • Experience in leading teams to deliver high-quality data services to executive stakeholders.
  • Project management experience, including coordinating external research agencies and managing timelines.
