Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at Legal & General. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for assessing and processing applications for equity release mortgages, ensuring that they meet our strict audit and underwriting guidelines and criteria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and process applications for equity release mortgages, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure acceptability and liability.
  • Interact with customers to gather information required to process and assess applications, providing a high standard of customer service.
  • Deliver high-quality underwriting data analysis to identify trends and produce reports, highlighting areas for improvement to the underwriting management team.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to ensure that all applications are processed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Minimum of GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Anti Money Laundering (AML), 'Treating Customers Fairly' (TCF), and Data Protection requirements.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft.
