We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at Legal & General. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in assessing and processing applications for Equity Release, Residential, and Buy-to-Let cases.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and process applications, ensuring compliance with audit and underwriting guidelines.
- Interact with customers to gather information required for application processing.
- Apply knowledge to mentor and coach junior underwriters and underwriting administrators.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and monitor the standard of junior underwriters and underwriting administrators.
- Analyze underwriting data to identify trends and produce reports for review by the underwriting management team.
- Experience as a Mortgage Underwriter.
- Previous experience underwriting Equity Release, Residential, or Buy-to-Let cases.
- Minimum of GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.
- Understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), 'Treating Customers Fairly' (TCF), and Data Protection requirements.
- Strong verbal and written skills, with attention to detail.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft.
