We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at Legal & General. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for assessing and processing applications for equity release mortgage products.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and process applications for equity release mortgage products, ensuring compliance with strict audit and underwriting guidelines.
- Interact with customers to gather information required to process and assess applications.
- Apply knowledge to mentor and coach others, providing advice and guidance to improve understanding and job-related skills.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and monitor the standard exhibited by junior underwriters and underwriting administrators.
- Analyse underwriting data to identify trends and produce necessary reports or findings.
- Experience as a Mortgage Underwriter.
- Previous experience underwriting equity release, residential, or buy-to-let cases.
- Minimum of GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.
- Understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), 'Treating Customers Fairly' (TCF), and Data Protection requirements.
- Strong verbal and written skills and attention to detail.
- Computer literate in Microsoft.
