Position Overview

The SARC Operations Manager plays a vital role in delivering essential support and care to individuals affected by sexual violence.

As the primary advocate for clients visiting the centre, you will empower them to regain control and, when necessary, assist them throughout the forensic examination process.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the SARC Operations Manager include:

  • Ensuring the coordination and provision of safe, effective services to all clients of the SARC, meeting both national and local standards related to sexual violence.
  • Evaluating and enhancing current service delivery, implementing necessary changes to improve access and service quality while adhering to budgetary constraints. Additionally, overseeing the management of all personnel associated with the SARC.

Each region has its own dedicated Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC), established to enhance the immediate medical response and ongoing support for victims of sexual violence.

As the SARC Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the centre's operations, ensuring seamless service delivery.

You will lead and manage this multi-agency centre, playing a crucial role in shaping a strategic vision for the service, ensuring compliance with both internal and external expectations while managing budgetary requirements. This role may require flexibility to cover service needs outside of regular hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) with a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience.
  • Due to the nature of this role, applications are invited from female candidates only, in accordance with the Sex Discrimination Act.
  • Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Experience

Essential

  • Basic Life Support (training provided).
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and judgment skills.
  • Venepuncture training.
  • Management experience.
  • Trained in conducting forensic examinations.
  • Familiarity with SARC commissioning processes.
