Job Summary

Aston Martin F1 Team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technical Procurement Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for procuring and expediting components used across an F1 car, ensuring quality, cost, and lead time are considered, and all risks to the business are mitigated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement and Expedite Management: Procure and expedite components used across an F1 car, ensuring quality, cost, and lead time are considered, and all risks to the business are mitigated.
  • Supply Chain Communication: Inform relevant stakeholders within the business of any delays or issues within the supply chain, ensuring the ERP system is updated to reflect expected delivery dates.
  • Supplier Management: Ensure suppliers selected can meet all specifications and quality standards defined by AMF1 design.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Support the Direct Procurement Manager with sourcing strategy and planning, focusing on reducing lead-times, increasing agility, delivery performance, and achieving best value.
  • Team Leadership: Support the Direct Procurement Manager in the day-to-day running of the Direct Procurement team and take ownership of key projects.
  • Process Improvement: Lead by example and set the benchmark in all departmental KPIs, processes, and behaviors for other team members to follow.
  • Supplier Onboarding: Onboard new suppliers in conjunction with the Supplier Quality Team to enhance the supply chain capability and capacity.
  • Professional Conduct: Work proactively, responsibly, and professionally always, and respect and comply with the company's reporting structure.

Requirements

  • Procurement Experience: Possess good overall knowledge of Formula One or similar component procurement with an excellent working knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes. At least two years in a similar role is desirable.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Possess excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside of the box and clearly describe practical solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, D365, or similar, and the Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Leadership Skills: Be self-motivated and motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment.
  • Communication Skills: Communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues.
  • Adaptability: Have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
