Position Summary: The Offshore Electrical Equipment Engineer plays a vital role in the Offshore Business, concentrating on the successful delivery of the Main Electrical Equipment (MEQ) packages for significant offshore wind initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the scoping, tendering, and appointment of essential electrical design tasks to ensure a solid electrical design foundation for project advancement.
  • Coordinate the provision of primary electrical equipment design data for integration into various design studies and activities.
  • Lead the scope of work for the main electrical equipment package, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Document all assessments, recommendations, and advice in line with internal protocols and industry best practices.
  • Stay informed about the latest technical and commercial advancements, identifying innovative technologies that could enhance cost efficiency and safety.
  • Review documentation from contractors and manufacturers to ensure alignment with project requirements, negotiating necessary amendments.
  • Manage quality assurance and control inspections, including witnessing key tests during the manufacturing phase.
  • Support the project commissioning team to guarantee the successful implementation of all supplied equipment.
  • Facilitate the capture and sharing of lessons learned across various projects to enhance overall business value.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with EHV/HV electrical equipment in large-scale offshore wind projects.
  • Proven track record in electrical and grid works related to offshore wind, including system studies and behaviors.
  • Experience in engineering, procurement, and construction of EHV/HV equipment.
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline; advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Extensive background in power generation, transmission, or networks sector.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations for construction and offshore projects.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing electrical equipment design, procurement, and installation, including contract and program management.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills with the capability to foresee and mitigate potential issues.

Work Environment:

Site working is expected, along with potential travel to international locations.
