Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Engineer - MEQ Packages Specialist

Job Type: Full-time

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Scope and Tender Electrical Design Activities: Oversee the tendering process for electrical design activities, ensuring a robust electrical design basis is established for all stages of project development.
  • Manage Electrical Equipment Design Data: Provide main electrical equipment design data for integration into electrical design studies and related activities, such as offshore and onshore substations.
  • Lead Main Electrical Equipment Package: Ensure equipment is properly specified, designed, manufactured, tested, stored, delivered, installed, and commissioned according to project requirements and industry standards.
  • Document Assessments and Recommendations: Document all assessments, advice, and recommendations in compliance with internal procedures and industry best practices, ensuring thorough technical and commercial due diligence supports business decisions.
  • Stay Informed of Technical and Commercial Developments: Stay informed of the latest technical and commercial developments, identifying new technologies that could reduce costs, mitigate risks, or improve safety.
  • Review Contractor and Manufacturer Documentation: Review contractor and manufacturer documentation to ensure compliance with project and business requirements, negotiating changes with suppliers as needed.
  • Oversee Quality Assurance/Control Inspections: Oversee quality assurance/control inspections and witness key tests during equipment manufacturing, including factory acceptance tests as per the inspection and test plan.
  • Ensure Successful Installation: Ensure the successful installation of all equipment supplied under the Main Electrical Equipment contract.
  • Support Commissioning Team: Support the project commissioning team to achieve successful commissioning of all equipment under the Main Electrical Equipment contract.
  • Capture and Share Lessons Learned: Capture and share lessons learned from offshore wind farm development, construction, and operation across projects, establishing mechanisms for this process and ensuring their implementation by the engineering team to enhance business value.
  • Interface with Different Leads: Interface and collaborate with O&M leads and Delivery leads to ensure the requirements are specified and met.
Requirements:
  • Experience and Understanding of EHV/HV Systems: Experience and understanding of EHV/HV systems specifically relating to the grid and offshore wind farms.
  • Experience and Knowledge of Electrical Equipment: Must have experience and knowledge of EHV/HV Switchgear, Power transformers, Neutral Earthing Transformers/Reactors, Shunt Reactors/Capacitors, Reactive Power Compensation Equipment, Harmonic Filters.
  • Experience in Power Distribution or T&D: Experience in Power distribution or T&D.
