Position Overview

We are seeking applications for 4 Critical Care Medical Officers at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This role is designed for a duration of six months to one year, tailored to the applicant's requirements. Candidates must possess airway training, with regular opportunities for participation in surgical procedures and educational activities.

For qualified overseas applicants, there is a possibility for an extended contract to facilitate Visa requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will oversee the daily assessment and management of critically ill adult patients within the critical care unit. While primarily stationed in the Intensive Care Unit, responsibilities will also include the evaluation and treatment of critically ill patients across the hospital, particularly in the wards and emergency department.

Under the guidance of Intensive Care Consultants, you will contribute to the evaluation, admission, ongoing management, diagnostic procedures, and eventual discharge of patients. The Critical Care Medical Officers are expected to operate at the level of a Specialty Registrar, taking on greater responsibilities for the assessment and management of unwell patients in both the Intensive Care Unit and throughout the hospital, while also supervising junior trainees. Support will be provided by the consultant team.
