London Borough of Hillingdon, United Kingdom The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are seeking applications for 4 Critical Care Medical Officers at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This role is designed for a duration of six months to one year, tailored to meet the needs of the successful candidates. Applicants must possess airway training, with regular opportunities available for surgical procedures and educational contributions.

For qualified overseas applicants, there is a possibility for an extended contract to facilitate Visa arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be tasked with the daily assessment and management of critically ill adult patients within the critical care unit. While primarily stationed in the Intensive Care Unit, the role also includes the responsibility of evaluating and managing critically ill patients across the hospital, particularly in the wards and emergency department.

Under the guidance of the Intensive Care Consultants, you will play a vital role in the evaluation, admission, ongoing management, diagnostic investigations, practical procedures, and eventual discharge of patients. The Critical Care Medical Officers are expected to operate at the level of a Specialty Registrar, taking on increased responsibilities for the assessment and management of acutely unwell patients both in the Intensive Care Unit and throughout the hospital, while also supervising junior trainees. Support will be provided by the consultant team.
