Position:
Resident Medical Officer – Critical Care Level 3 Units

Location:
Central London, HCA Healthcare UK Hospitals
Contract Type: 1 or 2 years Salaried

Work Schedule:
Most physicians typically prefer to work 1 x 24-hour shift per week or 2 x 12-hour shifts. Full-time positions are also available. The rotas are organized well in advance, offering considerable flexibility to accommodate your other commitments.

We are seeking highly skilled Critical Care/Anaesthetic trained doctors at the ST4+ level to join our Resident Medical Officer team.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with our private patient consultants, gain insights from specialist nurses, and engage in critical care pathways as directed by the assigned consultants.

This is a Consultant-Led organization, and you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Critical Care Ward and ITU units, providing medical care from admission through to discharge.

You will independently manage the medical care of inpatients, which includes conducting assessments for new planned and unplanned admissions, performing daily patient ward rounds, and responding to medical emergencies.

Responsibilities include delivering medical procedures as required by the lead consultant, such as vascular access (e.g., central venous catheter insertion, arterial line placement), airway management (e.g., intubation, tracheostomy management), acute pain management, and the use of ultrasound and ventilation management.

Qualifications:
- MBBS medical qualification
- An additional post-graduate qualification (FRCA/FICM/MRCEM/MRCP or equivalent) is desirable
- NHS Trained in Intensive Care Medicine or Anaesthesia to ST4 and above, or equivalent

Career Development Opportunities:
Core staff members are allocated a study budget for courses relevant to their specialty.
