Lead Cardiac Physiologist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled cardiac physiologist to become a vital part of our growing team. Our department specializes in a variety of intricate invasive and non-invasive diagnostic techniques, including Transthoracic and Transoesophageal Echocardiography, Angiograms/PCI, and device implants such as pacemakers and ICDs. You will have the opportunity to participate in our on-call rota and will be supported in your professional development towards IBHRE, BHRS, or BSE certifications.
Key Responsibilities
As a cardiac physiologist, your duties will include:
- Providing expert support during complex device implants and follow-up clinics for pacemakers and implantable loop recorders.
- Analyzing intricate data and adjusting device parameters according to established protocols for individual patients.
- Taking on a specialized role within the invasive PCI service in the Cardiac Catheter lab, including monitoring cardiac hemodynamics and intra-cardiac pressures in high-risk patients.
- Leading Exercise Tolerance Tests (ETTs) and interpreting results in line with national standards.
- Conducting 24-hour Ambulatory ECG recordings, Blood Pressure monitoring, and Cardiac Event recorder analyses, with comprehensive reporting.
- Performing Electrocardiograms on diverse patient categories and communicating any significant findings to the appropriate physician.
- Setting up and executing Tilt table tests for both medical and physiologist-supervised assessments.
- Engaging in continuous professional development within your chosen specialty, such as CRM or Electrophysiology, and working towards relevant accreditations.
- Taking responsibility for performing Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation in emergency situations.
