Highly Specialized Cardiac Physiologist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly specialized cardiac physiologist to join our expanding cardiology team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing unsupervised cardiac ultrasound examinations to diagnose cardiac abnormalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality cardiac ultrasound examinations to diagnose cardiac abnormalities.
- Provide clinical interpretation and technical expertise on cardiac ultrasound scans performed by yourself and junior members of staff, in accordance with British Society of Echocardiography standards, guidelines, and departmental protocols and policies.
- Act appropriately in the event of significant adverse findings, alerting physicians when immediate medical attention is required.
- Be involved in the stress echo and TOE services and receive appropriate training if needed.
- Take responsibility for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation on patients in an emergency situation.
- Awareness of adverse clinical conditions/clinical events occurring during investigations and ensuring swift and appropriate action is taken to minimize life-threatening or significant medical events.
- Be familiar with current developments in the field of cardiology.
- Liaise with other departments and companies regarding maintenance and repairs to existing equipment within the department.
- Liaise in conjunction with the Head of Department, regarding evaluation of new clinical equipment.
