Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled cardiac physiologist to become a vital part of our dynamic and growing team. Our department specializes in a variety of intricate invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures, including Transthoracic and Transoesophageal Echocardiography, Angiograms/PCI, pacemaker/ICD/CRT-p implants, and Electrophysiology studies. You will be expected to participate in the on-call rota, and we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive environment that encourages our staff to enhance their skills and work towards professional accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will include:
- Providing expert physiologist support during complex device and permanent pacemaker implants.
- Analyzing intricate data and determining when to adjust parameters according to manufacturer and departmental guidelines during device follow-up clinics.
- Taking on a specialized physiologist role within the invasive PCI service located in the Cardiac Catheter lab.
- Conducting unsupervised monitoring of cardiac hemodynamics and invasive intra-cardiac pressures on critically ill cardiac patients, including the preparation and management of balloon pump equipment for intra-aortic balloon insertion.
- Leading Exercise Tolerance Tests (ETTs) as a primary physiologist, analyzing and reporting results in accordance with established protocols.
- Performing and interpreting Electrocardiograms across all patient categories, promptly informing the relevant physician of any concerning findings.
- Setting up equipment and executing Tilt table testing for medically supervised investigations.
- Developing expertise in a chosen specialty area, such as CRM or Electrophysiology, and working towards relevant accreditation.
- Being designated to perform Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation in emergency situations.
