We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team at Daish's Holidays.

This role offers a competitive salary, along with the benefits of year-round employment, as we remain open throughout the winter season. You will also receive a bonus upon completing our training program and an additional incentive for referring a friend.

Your working hours will include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with our kitchen team finishing no later than 8:30 PM. Breakfast shifts commence at 7 AM.

In your role as Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will be tasked with preparing high-quality meals for up to 150 guests within a standard 45-minute service window for both breakfast and dinner. Comprehensive training will be provided to help you manage our kitchen operations, work with established menus, and ensure that all meals meet the highest standards of taste, presentation, and food safety. You will be an integral part of our Daish's Training Academy.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to prepare dishes as directed by the Head Chef, with the potential to create your own recipes independently and collaboratively.
  • Support in the development and implementation of menus, ensuring a diverse and high-quality dining experience for our guests.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to maintain kitchen equipment and uphold service standards.
  • Mentor and train new kitchen staff.
  • Assist with monthly inventory checks as needed.
  • Help with daily stock replenishment when required.
  • Maintain necessary legislative records, including food safety logs, to facilitate inspections.
  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to company Health & Safety policies.
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage responsibilities effectively.
  • Knowledge of culinary trends and efficient kitchen practices.
  • A proactive, confident, and capable approach to work.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain performance under pressure.
  • Commitment to the values of the organization and a desire to contribute positively.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety regulations in kitchen environments.
  • Experience in catering for hotel operations is advantageous.
