We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team at Daish's Holidays.
This role offers a competitive salary of £29,250 per annum, based on a 45-hour work week with varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. We pride ourselves on providing continuous employment throughout the year, ensuring our team members have stability and growth.
As part of our commitment to employee wellbeing, we offer a supportive mental health and financial assistance program, along with an extra paid day off for your birthday. Additionally, you will receive a £50 bonus upon completing basic training and a referral bonus of £100 if you bring a friend on board.
In your role, you will be tasked with preparing high-quality meals for up to 150 guests within a standard 45-minute service window for both breakfast and dinner. Comprehensive training will be provided to help you manage kitchen operations, work with established menus, and ensure that all meals meet our high standards for taste, presentation, and food safety. You will also be part of our Daish's Training Academy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present dishes as directed by the Head Chef, while also having the opportunity to create your own recipes.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to implement menus that ensure variety and quality for our guests.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and uphold service standards.
- Train and mentor new kitchen staff.
- Assist with stocktaking and replenishment as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining necessary records for inspections.
- Foster a safe working environment by adhering to company health and safety policies.
- Bring experience from a commercial kitchen environment.
- Manage tasks effectively while maintaining high performance under pressure.
- Stay informed about culinary trends and optimize kitchen processes.
- Exhibit enthusiasm, confidence, and competence in your role.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the values of our organization.
- Possess knowledge of health and safety issues relevant to kitchen operations.
- Experience in catering for a hotel operation is advantageous.
