Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, improve, and maintain high-quality solutions according to set standards and processes.
- System Incident Resolution: Resolve system incidents according to set service level agreements.
- Troubleshooting and Monitoring: Troubleshoot, monitor, and report on system status.
- Technical Advisory: Provide technical advice to the business, suppliers, and contractors on software solutions.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documentation, training manuals, functional specifications, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge Acquisition: Acquire knowledge of plant and/or business processes in allocated areas of responsibility.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks to reduce risk exposure for the company.
- Self-Education: Stay up-to-date with relevant current best practices, technologies, trends, and events.
- Qualifications: National Diploma (NQF 6/10) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Science.
- Experience: Minimum 18 months relevant experience in the development, integration, and support of information systems in a production automation, manufacturing execution, or similar environment.
- Skills: Knowledge of production automation systems, development and design within a Microsoft SQL database environment (T/SQL), development and design within an Oracle database environment (PL/SQL), Git repository management, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, system integration and inter-system communication (API, Middleware, etc.), change management, troubleshooting and problem-solving, and good understanding of system development life cycle and solution analysis.
