About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced National Account Controller to join our team at McCarthy Recruitment Limited. As a National Account Controller, you will be responsible for driving the growth and success of our clients' national kitchen accounts, including Wren, Magnet, Wickes, and Howdens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Sales Strategies: Develop and implement sales strategies to enhance sales opportunities and profitability for our clients' national kitchen accounts.
  • Build and Maintain Industry Networks: Forge and maintain industry networks to identify sales opportunities and build strong relationships with key contacts.
  • Collaborate with Sales Teams: Collaborate with National Account Managers to create annual Joint Business Plans and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Conduct Regular Meetings: Conduct regular meetings with key contacts to build relationships, manage stakeholders, and ensure account plans are on track.
  • Analyse Sales Trends: Analyse sales trends and forecasts to align factory production with retailer demand.
  • Coordinate with Product Lines: Coordinate with the Product Line to agree on ranges and pricing, maximizing sales and profitability.
  • Manage A&P Budgets: Manage A&P budgets to deliver optimal ROI and adhere to investment processes.
  • Present and Launch New Products: Present and launch new products to drive sales and increase brand awareness.
  • Influence Retailer Strategy: Influence retailer strategy for product merchandising to boost brand awareness and drive sales.
  • Provide Leadership: Provide leadership to ensure team performance and development.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a National Account Controller or in a similar account management role.
  • Commercial Background: Background in a commercial, consumer goods company.
  • People Management Experience: Previous people management experience.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: Strong ability to engage, motivate, and manage a sales team.
  • Excellent Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills with stakeholders at all levels, including senior UK and European counterparts.
  • Strong Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with advanced analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent Relationship-Building Skills: Excellent relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Outstanding Communication Skills: Outstanding communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to Collaborate: Ability to collaborate effectively and remain calm under pressure.
