About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Advanced Practitioner Sonographer to join our team at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Ultrasound Department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake a wide range of ultrasound scans and provide written reports, ensuring accurate and timely diagnosis for patients.
  • Develop and deliver training for medical staff and sonographers, promoting excellence in ultrasound practice.
  • Lead service development initiatives, driving improvements in patient care and service efficiency.
  • Contribute to research and audit activities, advancing the field of ultrasound and improving patient outcomes.
  • Participate in the training of Radiology Registrars, Sonographers, Student Sonographers, and Radiography students, shaping the next generation of ultrasound professionals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide professional advice and support, ensuring seamless patient care.
  • Contribute to the operational and strategic development of ultrasound services, driving innovation and excellence.

Requirements
  • Qualified to PGC level in diagnostic ultrasound.
  • HCPC registration for Radiographers.
  • MSc or equivalent experience and specialist knowledge in an area of advanced practice or working towards this.
  • Experience of developing and delivering training for medical staff and sonographers.
  • Experience of leading service development initiatives.
  • Experience of undertaking research and audit activities.
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex information to patients and professionals.
  • Well-developed IT skills, including EPIC.
