Advanced Physiotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team as an Advanced Physiotherapist within the Integrated Community Stroke Team, covering the Furness and South Lakes area. The successful candidate will provide outstanding, personalized, and compassionate care to stroke survivors, working alongside a Clinical Lead OT, Clinical Lead SLT, and Team Lead to drive quality improvement and change.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will support the assessment and treatment of stroke survivors, assist with discharge planning, family/carer communication, and attend daily/weekly multidisciplinary team meetings. They will provide goal-led rehabilitation, delegate work, and oversee complex patients, supporting junior staff as required and liaising with the wider multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will have significant experience working within Stroke and/or Neuro, bringing a wealth of knowledge, skills, and behaviors suitable for the post. About UsUniversity Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust operates from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital, as well as community healthcare premises. The trust provides a range of services, including emergency departments, critical/coronary care units, and consultant-led services. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working together to deliver high-quality care to patients across the Morecambe Bay area.
Person SpecificationThe successful candidate will have a BSc degree or postgraduate diploma in Physiotherapy, be registered with the HCPC, and have evidence of relevant postgraduate training or experience. They will also have previous relevant experience at band 6 or 7, current knowledge and experience of patients with conditions relevant to the specialty, and experience of mentoring, assessing, teaching, and developing staff.
