Opportunity for a Youth Justice Support Specialist
Kent County Council is seeking a committed Youth Justice Support Specialist to take on a pivotal role within the Kent Youth Justice West framework. This position entails working across various districts in Kent, focusing on young individuals who have come into contact with the criminal justice system. The primary goal is to mitigate the chances of reoffending while addressing the vulnerabilities faced by these young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments of young individuals.
- Draft detailed reports for judicial proceedings and review panels.
- Implement targeted interventions for youth and their families as part of mandated programs.
This role requires participation in a range of meetings, including those with the Youth Justice team and multi-agency collaborations, to facilitate effective prevention strategies and risk management. Regular attendance at Youth, Magistrates, and Crown Courts is also an essential aspect of this position.
Applicants must be prepared to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure Application through the Disclosure and Barring Service. Proficiency in English is a requirement for this role, which involves significant interaction with clients.
