Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with Kent Youth Justice West as a Youth Justice Practitioner. This is a full-time position available on a temporary contract for 12 months, with the possibility of extension or permanency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake assessments and complete reports for Court and panels.
  • Work directly with young people and their families to complete interventions as part of their statutory programme.
  • Reduce the risk of reoffending in accordance with agreed intervention plans and manage risk of harm to others and vulnerability issues.

Working Environment

This role involves working in partnership with a multi-agency service, requiring regular attendance at Youth Justice team meetings and multi-agency meetings for prevention and risk management. You will also be expected to take part in the service duty rota and attend Youth, Magistrates, and Crown Courts regularly.

Requirements

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council has a statutory duty to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
