Forensic Specialty Doctor Opportunity

Athona Recruitment is pleased to offer an exciting permanent position for a Forensic Specialty Doctor to join a private service based in Nottingham. This is a full-time role with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Specialty Doctor to work in a high secure unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking psychiatric and external assessments, preparing discharge summaries and reports, and participating in learning activities and supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake psychiatric and external assessments for clients referred to the unit to determine the appropriate level of care to be provided.
  • Prepare discharge summaries, reports, and other associated documentation as necessary.
  • Participate in learning activities and supervision.
  • Participate in Clinical Governance activities and account for contracted hours utilised in research, Continuing Professional Development, and other non-clinical duties.
  • Work effectively with colleagues to ensure that clients have access to appropriate medical cover at all times.
Requirements
  • 12 months' adult psychiatry experience.
  • Previous mental health inpatient experience desirable.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement, and quality.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice.
  • Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development (preferred).
  • Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (preferred).
