About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our North Youth team at Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation Trust. This is a full-time (10 session) role with 7.5 clinical sessions including clinics and team meetings and 2.5 SPAs which can be used for a range of activities as well as CPD to be discussed with the Clinical Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Consultant level support to the Youth team in terms of being part of the MDT discussions and interventions offered to those accessing the services.
  • Take a high level of clinical leadership in terms of both supporting service developments as well as maintaining good clinical governance and assurance that the service is safe and effective.
  • Work in several different settings within the Locality, including other Trust facilities, primary care, local acute Hospital NHS Trust facilities, and patients' residences.

  • Inclusion on the Consultant on-call rota for the higher level with 3%, 5% or 8% requisite pay depending on frequency

Requirements
  • Section 12(2) approval under the Mental Health Act
  • 3 years or equivalent medical experience
  • Leadership qualities
  • Driving license/able to travel independently
  • Experience of supervising junior medical staff
