Chelmsford, Essex, United Kingdom Grandir UK Full time

We are proud to share our recognition as a Great Place To Work, which underscores our dedication to fostering a supportive and enriching atmosphere for our team members. This accolade is in line with our mission to provide exceptional childcare and education, nurturing the development of children into joyful, intelligent, and healthy individuals. By prioritizing the needs of children and families, we recognize the crucial role our committed staff play in delivering outstanding educational experiences.

Our Kiddi Caru Day Nursery in Chelmsford, a part of Grandir UK, is seeking a skilled, passionate, and proactive Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team and assist in the care and support of children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Are you driven by the desire to make a meaningful impact?

Do you embrace challenges and strive to go above and beyond to meet the needs of children?

If this resonates with you, this position may be the perfect fit.

As the SENCO in our setting, you will have the chance to positively influence the lives of our youngest learners through early intervention and support for those with diverse needs.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with fellow practitioners, parents, and external organizations to cultivate inclusive learning environments. This may involve modifying teaching methods, offering targeted assistance, or advocating for inclusion. Your contributions will be essential in ensuring that every child flourishes and reaches their full potential during their time with us.

Through your role as SENCO and your commitment, you have the ability to inspire others and enhance educational experiences.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant Level 3 SEND qualification; however, additional training and support will be provided to the successful applicant.

Working Schedule:

This is a full-time role within our nursery, where you will be allocated time to complete necessary documentation, conduct observations, and participate in meetings with parents and external agencies.

Benefits of Joining Us:

  1. Incentives:
  2. Access to an employee benefits portal, featuring discounts at numerous online retailers
  3. Staff referral program, rewarding you for recommending friends and family to join our team
  4. Significantly reduced childcare costs
  5. Well-being initiatives:
    1. A dedicated 'Wellbeing Day' for your personal time off
    2. 24/7 remote GP consultations with home delivery of prescriptions
    3. Healthcare cashback plan to reclaim expenses for medical services such as dental care and physiotherapy
  6. Recognition programs:
    1. 'May I Say Thank You' - a month dedicated to acknowledging employees' hard work, culminating in an all-expenses-paid awards ceremony
    2. Reward and recognition points that can be converted into cash through our benefits portal
    3. Additional paid leave during the Christmas closure to enjoy with loved ones

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a liaison between parents and staff for children with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Providing guidance and support to other nursery practitioners regarding children with special educational needs or disabilities
  • Ensuring the implementation of appropriate Individual Education Plans
  • Collecting, recording, and updating relevant background information about children with special educational needs or disabilities
  • Staying informed about current initiatives and best practices

Grandir UK is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people, and an enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.

We are an equal opportunity employer, selecting staff based on merit, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marital status, race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, or belief.
