- South (Basildon and surrounding areas)
- West (Harlow and surrounding areas)
- North (Colchester and surrounding areas)
- Mid (Chelmsford and surrounding areas)

The Opportunity
Essex County Council is implementing a change program focused on enhancing services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our goal is to create a SEND system that identifies needs early and provides effective support without heavy reliance on statutory services.
The SEND Operations Coordinator will play a vital role in administering and supporting statutory SEND processes, including the Annual Review Process, particularly during phase transfers. Additionally, this role involves providing a triage service for all incoming contacts to the SEND Operations Team and supporting the Inclusion Team with health referrals.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and coordinate responses to incoming notifications from Health Colleagues regarding children with SEND.
- Liaise with Senior Inclusion Partners to ensure effective monitoring and provision development.
- Manage incoming post-16 assessment requests, collaborating with schools and key stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing materials for the Annual Review process, ensuring timely communication with schools and settings.
- Act as the first point of contact for parents, carers, and partner agencies, providing triage support and signposting as necessary.
- Support SEND Operations Coordinators by managing formal consultations as part of the Education Health Care (EHC) Assessment Process.
- Maintain tracking systems for students transitioning phases and ensure compliance with statutory processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely data recording to facilitate reporting on various subjects, including statutory timescales and pupil records.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to RQF level 2 or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated professional development and expertise in relevant areas.
- Thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and prioritization abilities, with adaptability to changing circumstances.
