Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a highly regarded primary school in Stevenage. The successful candidate will work closely with a dedicated, hardworking, and talented staff in an attractive and well-resourced learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support in all areas of the primary curriculum
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive learning environment
  • Manage behaviour and support the class teacher, planning, preparing, and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class
  • Use imagination and innovation to enhance the learning experience of all the children
  • Work with small groups and 1:1
  • Have a flexible approach and ability to adapt resources on the spot
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentations and maintain discipline

Requirements
  • Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get one
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs
  • 2 recent professional references
  • Experience with behaviours that are challenging
  • A calm and caring personality
  • A strong and resilient personality and be committed to pupil's development
  • Reading, writing, numeracy, and communication skills
  • Team Teach trained - or willing to attend training
