About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Stevenage. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher and students in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Classroom Teacher: Assist the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to students of varying abilities.
  • Provide Individualized Support: Offer one-on-one support to students who require additional help, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Contribute to a Positive Learning Environment: Help create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting a love of learning and encouraging students to reach their full potential.
  • Assist with Classroom Management: Support the class teacher in maintaining a well-organized and structured classroom environment, ensuring that students are engaged and motivated.
  • Develop and Implement Strategies: Work with the class teacher to develop and implement strategies to support students with special educational needs, ensuring that they have equal access to learning opportunities.
Requirements
  • Enhanced Child DBS: Hold an enhanced child DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Experience Working with Children: Have experience working with children or young people with additional care needs.
  • References: Provide two recent professional references.
  • Team Teach Training: Be Team Teach trained or willing to attend training.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
