We are excited to announce a rewarding position within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) at NELFT. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Specialist Practitioner for Looked After Children who will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of care for children in our community. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will possess the necessary qualifications from a recognized professional or regulatory body (HCPC, SWE, NMC, BABCP) and have a solid background in delivering psychological therapies within a CAMHS framework.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert consultation and support to social workers, foster carers, educational institutions, and residential care teams.
- Collaborating with the network surrounding care-experienced children to develop a unified approach to their support.
- Utilizing knowledge of developmental trauma and attachment theories to assess and understand children's behaviors in relation to their experiences.
- Conducting assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions for Looked After Children (LAC) facing moderate to severe mental health challenges.
