Job Overview

As a Marketing Specialist within our publishing division, you will play a key role in enhancing revenue streams among our university and library clientele. Collaborating closely with our sales and marketing teams, you will strategize, develop, and implement support communications that boost the visibility, utilization, and sales of our publishing offerings, publications, and services targeted at research and academic communities. This position demands a creative and analytical mindset capable of articulating the value of our products to librarians, researchers, and institutional leaders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Campaign Execution: Design, implement, and assess targeted marketing initiatives, including email outreach, webinars, advertisements, and events, all aimed at driving revenue growth.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate the success of marketing initiatives using analytical tools, providing regular updates and actionable recommendations to enhance effectiveness and boost sales.
  • Marketing Material Development: Collaborate with various teams, including marketing, sales, product, and design, to produce engaging marketing content across multiple channels, such as printed brochures, presentation slides, email communications, social media, and advertisements.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with the Marketing Engagement Executive to outline processes and trigger points for audience segments, facilitating the creation of email automations for lead generation and engagement campaigns.
  • Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the publishing marketing and sales teams to devise and execute strategies that align with sales goals, including lead generation, e-commerce, customer acquisition, usage, and retention efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comprehensive understanding of marketing strategies and communication channels, preferably within the publishing or academic sectors.
  • Exceptional copywriting abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and teams.
  • Commercially driven, analytical, and proactive approach.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with email marketing tools and website content management systems is advantageous.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • A degree in marketing, publishing, or a CIM qualification is preferred.
