Senior/Principal VFX Artist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal VFX Artist to join our team at Creative Assembly, a renowned game development studio. As a key member of our Survival Team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, performant visuals for our new project, a sequel to Alien: Isolation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement visually stunning effects in line with art direction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain an efficient pipeline
  • Communicate effectively with Production, Artists, Designers, and Programmers to ensure seamless project execution
Requirements:
  • Commercial experience with Unreal Engine 5
  • Ability to create and implement world-class real-time visuals in a game engine
  • Excellent visual awareness and artistic ability
  • Proficiency in modeling, texturing, lighting, and image processing
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of industry-standard software, including Adobe Photoshop, Substance Designer, Autodesk Maya, and 3ds Max
  • Experience with particle systems, animation, and shader creation
  • Strong awareness of industry technology trends and game development processes
Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of Houdini and its application in real-time game VFX
  • Familiarity with data management software and EmberGen
