The Role: Game Development Lecturer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Game Development Lecturer to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping the future of our students by delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across our Games Design and Games Programming courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and facilitate learning through a variety of innovative teaching methods, fostering a stimulating and interactive classroom environment.
  • Enhance the student learning experience by providing insightful talks, delivering comprehensive lesson plans, and sharing your expertise in game development concepts and techniques.
  • Offer timely and constructive feedback to students, encouraging critical thinking and ensuring a deep understanding of the subject matter.
  • Mark assessments effectively and consistently, providing valuable insights that support student growth and development.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field or an Honours degree (in progress or complete) coupled with substantial industry experience in game development.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with students and colleagues alike.
  • A demonstrated commitment to student success and a passion for sharing your knowledge and expertise.
  • Full working rights within the UK.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Relevant industry experience in game programming, development pipelines, and popular software tools such as Unity or Unreal Engine, with proficiency in C# or C++.
  • Prior teaching experience, including the creation of engaging session plans and learning materials.
  • Specializations in areas like game engines, graphics programming, artificial intelligence (AI), game optimization, mobile development (Android &/or Swift), virtual reality (VR) & augmented reality (AR), software development production, or other relevant game development topics.
  • Experience in project-based learning, flipped teaching techniques, and other innovative pedagogical approaches.
