A leading gaming studio is currently seeking a highly skilled Lead Game Designer to join their team. As a key member of the company, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a small team of designers, while also contributing to the design of new games.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of game design principles and be able to bring innovative ideas to the table. You will be responsible for outlining new game concepts, prototyping, mechanic design, core game design, and interactive narration. Additionally, you will be expected to stay up-to-date with current trends in the gaming industry and have a passion for playing and creating games.

This role offers a high degree of autonomy and flexibility, allowing you to work in a way that suits your style. You will be part of a team that values creativity and innovation, and you will have the opportunity to work on large-scale projects and implement new ideas.

As a Lead Game Designer, you will also be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and developing designers for the team. You will be a design generalist, with experience in various aspects of game design, including progression, mechanics, combat, and player movement.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years' experience as a Game Designer in the video games industry
  • Great knowledge of games and an excellent understanding of what makes them work
  • Interest in hack and slash, Action RPG's is a plus
