Behaviour Therapy Assistant

Academics is seeking a Behaviour Therapy Assistant to join their support team in Abingdon. As a Behaviour Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students with social, emotional, and mental health needs to make positive and safe choices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils exhibiting challenging or anti-social behaviours, as a result of a diagnosed social, emotional or mental health need.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver re-engagement techniques in the classroom.
  • Provide emotional support to at-risk children, helping them navigate their challenges.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage emotional resilience and academic growth.
  • Work with an empathetic and positive attitude.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children and/or adults with additional needs.
  • A degree in Psychology or Criminology would be beneficial.
