Stockport, Stockport, United Kingdom Pennine Care NHS FT Full time

Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Band 7 Cognitive Behavioral Specialist to become a part of the Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Service. This is a permanent, part-time role, requiring commitment for three days a week.

Our dedicated team operates within a Psychological Therapies Department, fostering a collaborative environment that includes Clinical Psychologists and various Psychological Therapists. We prioritize ongoing professional development and peer support.

The team is responsible for delivering both individual and group therapeutic interventions to clients in the community, while also providing consultation services to local mental health teams. We maintain close collaboration with other clinical units, including those focused on Complex Emotional and Relational Needs and Early Intervention Services. Additionally, we have a specialized Psychologist assigned to inpatient care.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Principal Clinical Psychologist/Team Manager for Secondary Care Psychological Therapies.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to clients on both an individual and group basis for three days each week. While experience with clients presenting psychosis is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite. Our current group offerings include Mindfulness, DBT-informed skills, Bipolar Relapse Prevention, and Hearing Voices groups.

There may be opportunities to co-facilitate groups within inpatient settings, although the primary focus will be community-based work.

We are committed to continuous improvement and welcome innovative ideas and initiatives from our team members.

Clinical supervision will be provided in accordance with the therapeutic approach utilized.
